  • Valid teaching certification in Deaf and Hard of Hearing education.
  • Demonstrated experience providing direct instruction to students who are deaf or hard of hearing.
  • Proficiency with American Sign Language (ASL) or other communication modalities.
  • Strong commitment to individualized education plans (IEPs) and student advocacy.
  • Collaborative approach, able to work effectively with general education staff, families, and related service providers.
  • Organizational and time-management skills for managing caseloads and documentation.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop, adapt, and deliver instruction in line with IEP goals, using evidence-based strategies tailored to students’ needs.
  • Consult with classroom teachers to ensure accessibility and promote full participation across all school activities.
  • Conduct assessments and monitor academic and communication progress.
  • Serve as a resource for staff and families regarding best practices and assistive technologies.
  • Support students’ social-emotional development and self-advocacy.
  • Maintain accurate records, prepare required reports, and attend eligibility and IEP meetings.
