What we’re looking for:
- Current OSPI Certification with a Deaf/Hard of Hearing (DHH) endorsement
- Proven history of working with students who use cochlear implants, hearing aids, FM systems, and American Sign Language (ASL)
- Ability to collaborate effectively with general and special education staff, administrators, and families
- Strong organizational skills for traveling between multiple school sites each week
- Genuine passion for advocating for students with diverse hearing needs and promoting their success in mainstream and specialized settings
Key responsibilities for this role include:
- Providing direct and consultative services to DHH students in a variety of school environments
- Facilitating individualized instruction to meet unique learning styles and communication needs
- Conducting assessments, developing IEP goals, and tracking student progress
- Coordinating support services and accommodations for students, ensuring accessibility
- Offering training and resources to educational staff on best practices for serving DHH learners
- Encouraging family engagement and serving as a liaison between home and school
