Desired Qualifications & Experience:

  • Valid certification in Deaf/Hard of Hearing education (state certification or eligibility required)
  • Experience working as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing in K-12 settings preferred
  • Proficiency with various communication methods (e.g., ASL, oral communication)
  • Ability to adapt instruction to meet diverse learning needs
  • Strong collaboration skills to work alongside general education teachers, specialists, and families
  • Commitment to promoting an inclusive, supportive classroom environment

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct instruction and support to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing across several school campuses
  • Develop and adapt lesson plans that address individual student goals and IEP requirements
  • Administer and monitor assistive technologies and accommodations for effective communication
  • Advocate for student access and participation within the educational community
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to monitor progress and address unique challenges
  • Communicate regularly with families and staff to ensure a cohesive support network for each student
