Key Qualifications:

  • Current certification as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing
  • Proven experience working with elementary-aged students
  • Expertise in developing and implementing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate with students, families, and professionals
  • Ability to adapt instruction to meet diverse hearing and communication needs

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Manage a caseload of 14-15 elementary students with varying degrees of hearing loss
  • Design and deliver tailored lessons aligned with IEP goals
  • Employ evidence-based strategies to foster language development, communication, and academic growth
  • Partner with classroom teachers to support inclusive learning environments
  • Provide guidance to students and families on accessible technology and resources
  • Conduct regular assessments and monitor progress, adjusting interventions as needed
