This position offers the opportunity to work on an itinerant basis, providing either direct or consultative support to students from early childhood through transition ages across multiple schools in the area. You will play a crucial role in empowering students with hearing differences, collaborating with educators, families, and support staff to foster inclusive and accessible learning environments.
Qualifications:
- Valid California DHH teaching credential required
- Current CTC (California Commission on Teacher Credentialing) documentation
- Demonstrated expertise in supporting DHH students in school settings
- Experience in consultative and itinerant service models preferred
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to adapt to a variety of school environments and student needs
Responsibilities:
- Deliver itinerant DHH services districtwide, supporting students ages early childhood through transition
- Serve primarily in a consultative capacity, collaborating with teams on educational strategies and accommodations
- Conduct student assessments and help develop individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Offer guidance to staff, students, and families regarding best practices and supports for DHH learners
- Work on-site across multiple campuses, prioritizing student engagement and partnership with school teams
- Maintain thorough documentation and contribute meaningfully to team meetings and progress evaluations
