Make an impact working as an itinerant Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing in a dynamic school environment serving students across multiple locations. This contract opportunity spans the full 2026-2027 academic year, focusing on supporting learners from early childhood through transition ages within a primarily consultative role. You'll work on-site across several schools, collaborating closely with educational teams to advocate for and empower DHH students.

What You'll Bring:

  • Valid Deaf/Hard of Hearing teaching credential and current California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC) certification.
  • Experience educating or consulting for students identified as Deaf or Hard of Hearing, preferably in school-based and itinerant settings.
  • Deep understanding of best practices in supporting auditory/oral, total communication, and visual language learners.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills to coordinate with multiple teams and manage a districtwide caseload.
  • Ability to tailor educational strategies to meet individual student needs.
  • Commitment to fostering inclusive, accessible learning environments.

Role Highlights:

  • Serve as an itinerant consultant for DHH students districtwide, primarily within San Francisco’s Richmond area schools.
  • Design, implement, and adjust specialized instructional strategies in consultation with general education staff and families.
  • Provide ongoing support, advocacy, and training for school personnel on DHH student needs and accommodations.
  • Monitor progress, update individualized education programs (IEPs), and maintain compliance with district and state guidelines.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including speech-language pathologists, audiologists, and counselors.
