Key Qualifications:

• Valid certification or licensure as a Deaf/Hard of Hearing Teacher.
• Experience working with students who are deaf or hard of hearing, preferably in a K-12 setting.
• Strong understanding of current educational strategies, assistive technologies, and accommodations for students with hearing impairments.
• Proficient in American Sign Language (ASL) and/or other communication modalities utilized by students.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for collaboration with students, families, and educational teams.
• Ability to adapt instruction to diverse learning needs and environments.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to each student’s unique needs.
• Provide direct instructional support, both individually and in small groups, using a range of communication and instructional approaches.
• Consult with general education teachers and staff to ensure classroom integration and accessibility.
• Assess student progress, maintain documentation, and communicate findings effectively with stakeholders.
• Serve as an advocate for students, fostering confidence, independence, and full participation in school life.
