In this role, you’ll serve as a key resource for students with hearing impairments, acting as a vital member of a dedicated team committed to supporting their academic, social, and emotional growth.
What We’re Looking For:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited institution
- Valid Alabama Teacher’s Certificate
- Willingness to meet Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) federal and state requirements (or fulfill within the designated timeframe)
- Maintains (or is willing to obtain) all required licensure for Deaf/Hard of Hearing (DHH) instruction in Alabama
- Prior experience supporting students who are deaf or hard of hearing is highly valued
- Strong collaboration and communication skills to work closely with educational teams, students, and families
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and adapt lesson plans and instructional materials to meet the unique needs of students with hearing impairments
- Implement and evaluate Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Provide direct and consultative services to students, teachers, and parents
- Advocate for accommodations and modifications that ensure student success across all educational settings
- Utilize assessment data to track progress and inform instruction
- Contribute actively to multidisciplinary teams within the school community
