Desired Qualifications:
- Valid state certification as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing

- Strong skills in American Sign Language (ASL) or other communication modes used by students
- Ability to adapt lessons and materials for students with diverse needs
- Team-focused approach, collaborating effectively with educators, therapists, and families
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement effective instructional strategies for students with hearing loss
- Assess student progress and adjust teaching methods to maximize each child’s learning potential
- Work with classroom teachers to modify content, ensuring accessibility for all
- Advocate for students’ needs and foster self-advocacy skills
- Serve as a resource and consultant for staff and families on hearing loss and inclusion
- Participate in IEP meetings, progress reporting, and multidisciplinary planning
