What you’ll bring to the position:
- Current certification or licensure as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing
- Passion for fostering communication and language development for students with hearing loss
- Experience with various communication modalities, including sign language, auditory/oral approaches, and assistive technology
- Ability to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Strong organizational and documentation skills
- Excellent interpersonal abilities to partner with teachers, parents, and support staff
Role responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction tailored to students’ unique needs and strengths
- Assess and monitor student progress, adapting strategies as appropriate
- Consult with general education staff and administrators to ensure student accommodations
- Guide families on supportive resources and strategies
- Contribute to IEP meetings and maintain compliance with all educational requirements
