Deaf and Hard of Hearing Teacher - Brandon, Mississippi

Qualifications:

• Valid teaching certification with Deaf/Hard of Hearing endorsement (or eligibility)
• Experience creating, adapting, and delivering curriculum for students who are deaf/hard of hearing
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with students, families, and colleagues
• Ability to implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and monitor student progress
• Familiarity with assistive listening devices, American Sign Language (ASL), and/or other modes of communication (preferred)
• Commitment to fostering an inclusive, supportive classroom environment

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct instruction to students who are deaf or hard of hearing in accordance with IEP goals
• Collaborate with general education teachers to support student access to the curriculum
• Develop and adapt instructional materials to meet diverse learning needs
• Consult with school teams and parents regarding student progress and strategies for success
• Advocate for necessary accommodations and modifications in the classroom
• Maintain accurate records, assessments, and documentation required by the school or district
