What we’d love to see:

  • Valid state licensure/certification as a Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing (or eligibility)
  • Experience supporting students who are deaf or hard of hearing across various grade levels
  • Solid knowledge of assistive technologies and current best practices in deaf education
  • Skill in adapting instructional materials to meet specified accommodations and learning styles
  • Strong communication and documentation abilities
  • Ability to work effectively with multi-disciplinary teams, students, and families
  • Commitment to fostering an inclusive, accessible classroom atmosphere

Key responsibilities:

  • Design and implement tailored instructional programs aligned with student IEPs
  • Collaborate with general education teachers to plan accommodations and modifications
  • Monitor, track, and report on student progress toward established goals
  • Advocate for students’ needs and help facilitate access to appropriate resources and supports
  • Provide guidance and training to staff on hearing loss, communication strategies, and classroom modifications
  • Foster positive, respectful relationships with students and families
