Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (TDHH) - Brighton, Colorado

Help support student learning and communication by working as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing in a contract position near Brighton, CO. Qualifications:

• Valid teaching certification for Deaf/Hard of Hearing students
• Prior experience supporting deaf or hard of hearing students in a school setting
• Strong knowledge of individualized educational plans (IEPs) and ability to implement accommodations or modifications
• Familiarity with sign language and alternative communication methods
• Ability to collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families
• Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct and consultative educational services to deaf and hard of hearing students across grade levels
• Develop, implement, and monitor IEP goals to ensure access to curriculum and classroom engagement
• Advocate for students' needs while promoting independence and self-advocacy
• Offer resources and training to teachers and staff regarding accommodations, communication strategies, and best practices
• Collaborate regularly with multidisciplinary teams and family members to support holistic student growth
• Document progress and participate in IEP meetings
