Key Qualifications:

  • Certification as a Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing and/or Teacher for the Visually Impaired
  • Experience working with school-aged children in educational settings
  • Proficient in developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and advocacy skills
  • Ability to adapt curriculum and instructional strategies to meet student needs

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct instruction and support to students who are deaf, hard of hearing, or visually impaired
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers, specialists, and families to facilitate accessible learning experiences
  • Conduct assessments and contribute to IEP meetings and student goal-setting
  • Advocate for adaptations, technology, and resources to promote student independence and success
