Qualifications and Experience Desired:

• Valid certification as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing (or eligibility for certification)
• Proven experience working with school-aged children who are deaf or hard of hearing
• Deep understanding of IEP processes and ability to contribute to individualized education plans
• Familiarity with assistive listening technology, ASL, and/or other communication modalities
• Patient, positive, and adaptable with strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct and consultative instructional support to students with hearing loss in a variety of educational settings
• Collaborate with classroom teachers, therapists, and families to develop strategies that meet students’ academic, language, and social needs
• Adapt curriculum and materials for accessibility, ensuring students’ full participation in classroom activities
• Track student progress, contribute to IEP meetings, and maintain clear documentation
• Advocate for accessibility and provide training or resources to colleagues as needed
