Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Deaf Education or related field
- Current state teaching certification or eligibility for certification as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing
- Experience working with children who are deaf or hard of hearing, preferably in a school setting
- Knowledge of assistive technology, auditory/oral approaches, and sign language
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities
Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct and consultative services to students with hearing impairments
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) in collaboration with multi-disciplinary teams
- Adapt curriculum to meet the needs of students using a range of modalities, including visual and auditory supports
- Support classroom teachers and staff in effective inclusion strategies
- Communicate progress and strategies with families and team members
- Participate in ongoing professional development
