Key Qualifications:

• Valid teaching certification in Deaf/Hard of Hearing education (state-specific credentials required)
• Experience working with students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing across various age groups
• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) or other communication modalities used in Deaf education
• Ability to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with students, staff, and families
• Creativity and flexibility to adapt instruction for diverse learning needs

Your Responsibilities:

• Provide direct instruction and support to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing in individual, small group, and/or classroom settings
• Assess students’ abilities and progress using appropriate tools and techniques
• Adapt and modify curriculum to ensure accessibility and engagement
• Collaborate closely with general education teachers, speech-language pathologists, and support staff to integrate strategies throughout the school environment
• Guide families on resources and strategies to maximize their child’s learning opportunities
• Maintain up-to-date documentation, progress monitoring, and compliance with state and federal guidelines
