Step into a rewarding contract role supporting students as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing for the upcoming 2026-2027 school year. This full-time opportunity encompasses K-12 students in an itinerant model, allowing you to collaborate across multiple sites within the district and make a widespread impact. You will work closely with a highly supportive and collaborative team dedicated to fostering student growth and inclusive learning environments.

Ideal candidates are passionate about educational equity, skilled in adapting instructional strategies for D/deaf and Hard of Hearing learners, and ready to actively participate in team-based student support initiatives. A positive attitude and willingness to partner with teachers and families is essential.

Qualifications:

  • Valid state certification as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing or eligibility for licensure.
  • Experience or training in serving K-12 students with hearing loss.
  • Skilled in developing and implementing individualized education programs (IEPs).
  • Ability to adapt curriculum to address diverse hearing needs and support inclusion.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct instruction and support to D/deaf and Hard of Hearing students across multiple school sites.
  • Collaborate with teachers, related service providers, and families to develop and monitor IEPs.
  • Provide consultation and resources to general education staff to maximize student participation.
  • Foster a positive, accessible classroom environment for all learners.
  • Stay current with best practices and advocacy for students with hearing loss.
