Qualifications/Experience Sought:

  • Valid teaching credential/license with an endorsement in Deaf/Hard of Hearing Education (or eligibility to obtain)
  • Previous experience working with students who are deaf or hard of hearing, ideally within schools
  • Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) or other communication modalities relevant to DHH students
  • Strong interpersonal communication abilities and collaborative skills
  • Capability to develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
  • Commitment to fostering inclusion and advocating for student needs

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct and consultative services to DHH students across grade levels
  • Tailor lessons and materials to students’ individual needs and communication preferences
  • Collaborate with general and special education staff to support inclusion
  • Conduct assessments and participate in IEP meetings
  • Engage and inform families about student progress and available strategies
  • Serve as a resource for staff regarding best practices for DHH students
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation as required
