Preferred Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid certification as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing (state-specific credentials preferred)
- Knowledge of American Sign Language (ASL), auditory/oral approaches, and assistive technology for hearing impairments
- Experience working in K-12 settings, supporting students with varying degrees of hearing loss
- Strong skills in IEP development, collaborative teaching, and family engagement
- Flexibility, excellent communication, and a student-centered mindset
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct and consultative services to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
- Adapt curriculum and instructional techniques to meet individual learner needs
- Collaborate with general and special educators to ensure classroom accessibility and successful integration
- Conduct assessments and participate in multidisciplinary team meetings
- Partner with families and community agencies to support students’ communication and academic goals
- Maintain accurate documentation and comply with all regulatory guidelines
