Qualifications & Desired Experience:

  • Valid teaching certification in Deaf/Hard of Hearing and/or Visual Impairments (state credentials preferred)
  • Experience working with students who are Deaf, Hard of Hearing, Blind, or Visually Impaired, preferably within educational settings
  • Familiarity with individualized education programs (IEPs) and related documentation
  • Strong communication skills with students, staff, and families
  • Knowledge of assistive technology and adaptive instructional strategies
  • Comfortable working both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team

Role Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct and consultative instruction to students with hearing and/or vision loss
  • Adapt curriculum, create accessible learning materials, and utilize assistive technology for student success
  • Collaborate with general education staff and related service providers to support inclusive learning environments
  • Participate in IEP meetings, progress monitoring, and ongoing assessments
  • Foster a positive, empowering atmosphere that encourages student independence and self-advocacy
  • Maintain thorough records and communicate progress with families and staff
