As a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing on a contract basis, you’ll collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and families to help students reach their fullest potential.

Key Qualifications:

  • Valid certification in Deaf/Hard of Hearing Education (or pending eligibility)
  • Experience teaching students who are deaf or hard of hearing in a school setting
  • Strong knowledge of educational modifications, assistive technology, and differentiated instruction
  • Effective communication and organizational skills to build positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues
  • Commitment to creating inclusive learning environments and advocating for students’ needs
  • Familiarity with IEP development and implementation
  • Ability to adapt teaching methods and materials to accommodate individual learning styles

What You’ll Do:

  • Provide direct instruction and support to students with hearing impairments across various grade levels
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, specialists, and related service providers to deliver quality instruction
  • Develop, implement, and monitor IEP goals tailored to unique student needs
  • Train and coach staff and family members on communication strategies and best practices
  • Support transition planning, life skills, and self-advocacy for students
  • Maintain accurate documentation and ongoing communication with families
  • Integrate technology and visual supports to facilitate access to curriculum
