Qualifications and Experience Sought:

• Certification and licensure as a Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (valid for Wyoming or eligible for reciprocity)
• Proven experience working with students who are deaf or hard of hearing, preferably in a school-based setting
• Strong knowledge of assistive technology, auditory training, and communication modalities (such as ASL, oral, or total communication)
• Ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, speech-language pathologists, educational staff, and families
• Commitment to individualized education and evidence-based instructional strategies
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Flexible, adaptive, and passionate about student success

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct and consultative instructional support to students with hearing loss
• Implement and adapt Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) in partnership with interdisciplinary teams
• Support development of auditory, speech, language, and academic skills
• Advocate for student accommodations and accessibility within classroom and school settings
• Deliver in-service training to staff on hearing loss, assistive devices, and inclusion practices
• Maintain thorough documentation and progress monitoring
• Engage families in their child’s educational progress and foster collaborative relationships
