Key Qualifications:

• Valid state certification as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing or eligibility for certification
• Experience working with students who are deaf or hard of hearing, preferably in school settings
• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and familiarity with assistive communication technologies
• Knowledge of best practices in differentiated instruction and IEP development
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with staff, students, and families

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct instruction to students who are deaf or hard of hearing, adapting curriculum to meet individual needs
• Assess student progress, develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Foster an inclusive, engaging classroom environment that promotes literacy and language development
• Collaborate with general and special education staff to support student integration and success
• Provide guidance, support, and resources to families, ensuring effective communication channels
• Attend required meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities
