The role is set to begin August 3, 2026, and runs through May 28, 2027, aligning with the school calendar.
You’ll have the chance to work onsite across multiple locations, with assignments and caseloads tailored to district needs. As the district expands its services—including a new Middle School hub—your expertise will support students across Pre-K to 12th grade. The focus is primarily consultative, collaborating with educators and families to ensure each student receives tailored support.
Key Qualifications:
- Current Tennessee Department of Education certification to teach Deaf/Hard of Hearing students
- Previous experience in K-12 settings strongly preferred
- Ability to adapt consultative approaches to varying student and school needs
- Must complete required Tennessee fingerprinting for credentialing
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
Responsibilities:
- Provide consultative and direct instructional services to students who are deaf or hard of hearing, as outlined by each student’s needs
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement IEPs
- Travel between school hubs as assigned, working with students across a range of ages and educational stages
- Offer expertise and resources to general education staff to enhance accessibility and success for all learners
