Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid certification as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing
- Previous experience supporting students with hearing impairments in a school setting preferred
- Familiarity with assistive listening devices, American Sign Language, and alternative communication methods
- Ability to collaborate with educators, families, and specialists to design accessible curriculum
- Strong organizational, communication, and advocacy skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individualized and group instruction tailored to students’ unique needs
- Adapt curriculum materials for accessibility and actively participate in IEP meetings
- Assess student progress and adjust teaching strategies as necessary
- Offer guidance and training to school staff on effective strategies for supporting hearing-impaired students
- Maintain accurate records of assessments, progress, and interventions
- Foster an inclusive, supportive classroom environment that encourages student confidence
