Key Qualifications:
- Certification as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing (DHH)
- Experience working with students who are deaf or hard of hearing in school settings
- Strong knowledge of instructional strategies, IEP processes, and assistive technologies for DHH students
- Comfort with traveling between different school sites within the district
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct and consultative educational services for students with hearing impairments across various schools
- Adapt and develop instructional materials and strategies to ensure accessibility and enhance student learning
- Participate in IEP meetings, providing recommendations and progress updates
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, therapists, and families to offer cohesive support
- Foster an inclusive environment that respects students’ diverse communication needs and backgrounds
- Utilize and troubleshoot assistive listening devices and technology as needed
