Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Valid teaching certification in Deaf/Hard of Hearing or eligibility for certification
• Background or degree in Deaf Education, Special Education, or a closely related field
• Strong knowledge of hearing assistive technologies and strategies for diverse learners
• Proficiency with American Sign Language (ASL) or other communication modalities as required by individual students
• Collaborative, flexible approach to partnering with general and special educators, families, and support staff
• Previous experience working with students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing is highly valued

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct instruction and support for approximately two hours and fifteen minutes each week to a caseload of four students
• Adapt general curriculum to meet the unique communication and learning needs of each student
• Monitor and document student progress, adjusting teaching strategies as needed
• Consult with teachers and staff regarding accommodations, modifications, and effective classroom integration
• Engage with parents to promote continuity of learning and advocate for each student’s success
