Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (TDHH) | Chattanooga, Tennessee

Make a difference in the lives of students as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing in the Chattanooga area. This contract opportunity offers the chance to support students across multiple schools during the upcoming academic year. You'll collaborate with dedicated educational teams and be instrumental in providing tailored instruction and support to DHH students.

Your role will involve serving diverse age groups and caseloads, with exact assignments and details to be shared as school year needs are finalized.

Qualifications:

• Valid and active DOE certificate
• Prior experience teaching or supporting Deaf/Hard of Hearing students in a school setting
• Familiarity with current best practices and technology for DHH instruction
• Ability to collaborate with general and special education teams
• Exceptional communication and advocacy skills
• Willingness to complete fingerprinting as part of credentialing requirements

Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct instruction and support to Deaf/Hard of Hearing students
• Adapt curriculum and develop educational materials to meet individual needs
• Coordinate with families, support staff, and related service providers
• Attend IEP meetings and contribute to the development of student goals
• Maintain accurate documentation and progress reports
• Provide consultation and resources to staff regarding DHH supports and inclusion
• Work across multiple school sites, with assignment details finalized closer to the start date

Enjoy a consistent, full-time Monday through Friday schedule (35 hours per week) following the academic calendar, starting August 2026 through May 2027.
