Qualifications & Experience:

  • Valid state certification as a Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing, or eligibility to obtain
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Deaf Education or related field
  • ASL proficiency and familiarity with assistive hearing technologies
  • Experience developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
  • Strong communication and advocacy skills in collaborating with parents, teachers, and support staff
  • Previous school-based experience working with deaf/hard of hearing students is highly desirable

Role Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging direct instruction tailored to students’ individual needs
  • Adapt general education curriculum and provide accessible learning resources
  • Monitor progress and maintain accurate documentation in accordance with IEP goals
  • Facilitate communication between students, teachers, and parents
  • Offer consultation and training to instructional staff regarding best practices and technology for hearing-impaired learners
  • Promote an inclusive environment that supports language development and academic achievement
