Desired Qualifications:

  • Hold or be eligible for state certification as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Deaf Education or a related field
  • Prior experience in a school setting or working with school-age children is highly valued
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
  • Ability to utilize assistive technology and implement a variety of communication modes, including American Sign Language (ASL)

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct and consultative instructional services for students with varying hearing abilities
  • Develop, implement, and monitor Individual Education Plans (IEPs) in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
  • Adapt curriculum and provide individualized support to meet student needs
  • Serve as a resource for classroom teachers, offering strategies for accessible instruction
  • Maintain thorough records of student progress, involvement, and attendance
  • Engage families in the educational process, supporting them as partners in student success
