Preferred Qualifications:
- Valid certification or licensure as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing
- Previous experience working with children with hearing impairments in an educational setting
- Familiarity with individualized education programs (IEPs) and related services
- Strong communication skills and comfort collaborating with educators, families, and support staff
- Ability to adapt and employ appropriate instructional strategies and technology for students’ unique needs
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess students’ strengths and needs, developing targeted education plans to maximize learning outcomes
- Deliver direct instruction using evidence-based practices and modifications tailored to each student
- Consult and collaborate with classroom teachers, administrators, speech-language pathologists, and audiologists
- Advocate for students’ access to curricular and extracurricular activities
- Maintain accurate documentation and progress reports, participating in IEP meetings and parent conferences
- Provide guidance on assistive listening devices, classroom acoustics, and accessible materials
