Preferred Qualifications:

• Valid certification or licensure as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing
• Previous experience working with children with hearing impairments in an educational setting
• Familiarity with individualized education programs (IEPs) and related services
• Strong communication skills and comfort collaborating with educators, families, and support staff
• Ability to adapt and employ appropriate instructional strategies and technology for students’ unique needs

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess students’ strengths and needs, developing targeted education plans to maximize learning outcomes
• Deliver direct instruction using evidence-based practices and modifications tailored to each student
• Consult and collaborate with classroom teachers, administrators, speech-language pathologists, and audiologists
• Advocate for students’ access to curricular and extracurricular activities
• Maintain accurate documentation and progress reports, participating in IEP meetings and parent conferences
• Provide guidance on assistive listening devices, classroom acoustics, and accessible materials
