Qualifications & Experience Desired:

• Valid teaching license or certification in Deaf/Hard of Hearing Education
• Proven experience as a Teacher for the Deaf/Hard of Hearing, ideally in school settings
• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and/or other modes of communication appropriate for students
• Strong understanding of current best practices in deaf education and accommodations
• Compassionate and patient approach to supporting diverse student needs
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills when working with school staff and families

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct and consultative instruction and support to students who are deaf or hard of hearing
• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student’s goals
• Adapt curriculum materials and classroom activities to maximize accessibility and inclusion
• Collaborate with general education teachers and related service providers to ensure students are fully supported
• Offer guidance and resources to staff and families regarding deaf/hard of hearing education and advocacy
• Maintain accurate records and monitor student progress, making data-driven adjustments as needed
