Key Qualifications:

  • State certification as a Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing (or eligibility to obtain)
  • Experience working with students with hearing impairments, preferably in an educational setting
  • Proficiency in sign language and/or other communication modalities
  • Strong advocacy skills and the ability to create inclusive learning environments
  • Excellent collaboration and communication abilities with students, staff, and parents
  • Flexibility and commitment to adapting instruction to meet individual needs

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver instruction tailored to students who are deaf or hard of hearing
  • Conduct assessments to determine student needs and progress
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, and families
  • Guide the use of assistive technology and support accommodations
  • Provide support for Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and participate in meetings
  • Monitor and document student progress toward academic and functional goals
