Deaf and Hard of Hearing Teacher - Cheyenne, WY

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Valid teaching certification in Deaf/Hard of Hearing education (or eligibility)
• Experience working with children who are deaf or hard of hearing
• Strong knowledge of auditory/oral and/or total communication approaches
• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) preferred, but not always required
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
• Ability to adapt lessons and materials to students' individualized needs
• Knowledge of IEP development and implementation processes

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct and consultative special education services to students with hearing loss
• Assess students’ needs and develop appropriate lesson plans and modifications
• Collaborate with general and special education staff to support inclusive learning environments
• Participate in IEP meetings, providing expertise on deaf/hard of hearing services
• Engage and support students' families regarding progress and resources
• Maintain accurate documentation, records, and progress notes as required
