Desired Qualifications:

• Valid teaching certification as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing
• Previous teaching experience in a school setting, preferably with Deaf/Hard of Hearing students
• Deep understanding of American Sign Language (ASL) and other communication strategies for deaf/hard of hearing students
• Strong collaboration skills with multidisciplinary teams, families, and related service providers
• Ability to develop and modify instructional materials to meet students' needs
• Commitment to fostering an inclusive, supportive classroom environment

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver individualized and group instruction to students identified as Deaf or Hard of Hearing
• Develop and implement lesson plans tailored to students’ language and communication needs
• Assess student progress and adapt teaching methods accordingly
• Collaborate with general education teachers, administrators, and support staff
• Participate in IEP (Individualized Education Program) meetings and contribute to the creation of appropriate educational goals
• Maintain accurate records on student progress and services provided
• Serve as an advocate for students, supporting access to school-wide resources, activities, and curriculum
