This full-time position (37.5 hours/week, Monday through Friday) offers a unique opportunity to work onsite with students from Pre-K through 12th grade. With DHH hub placements available in elementary and an exciting new middle school hub opening for the next school year, you’ll make a meaningful impact in a dynamic educational environment.
Ideal candidates hold an active Tennessee Department of Education certification and are prepared to complete mandatory fingerprinting for credentialing. Assignments and caseloads may vary; historically, the role has primarily involved consultative services as determined by students’ needs.
Key Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Tennessee Teaching Certificate with appropriate endorsement for Deaf/Hard of Hearing
- Previous experience working as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing within schools preferred
- Ability to consult, collaborate, and build strong relationships with staff and families
- Skilled in serving a broad K-12 population, with adaptability to shifts in assignment or caseload
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and upholding all state and district policies
- Compliance with all credentialing and fingerprinting requirements prior to start
Responsibilities:
- Deliver support, consultation, and direct services to DHH students as required by IEPs or district programs
- Collaborate with educational teams, families, and related professionals to promote student success
- Contribute to the ongoing development of DHH programming, including curriculum adaptations and advocacy
- Provide progress monitoring and communicate outcomes to all stakeholders
- Travel between DHH hub assignments within the district as needed
