Key Qualifications:
- Degree in Deaf Education or related field
- Holds or eligible for appropriate teaching certification for deaf/hard of hearing in Tennessee
- Strong understanding of auditory impairments and related instructional strategies
- Familiarity with IEP development and implementation
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience working with children in educational settings preferred
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver instruction tailored to the individual needs and learning styles of students who are deaf or hard of hearing
- Collaborate with general education teachers and other service providers to develop and implement IEPs
- Adapt curriculum and materials to ensure accessibility
- Advocate for appropriate accommodations and modifications to optimize student learning
- Provide support and resources to families and colleagues regarding best practices
- Document student progress and maintain accurate records within required timelines
