Key Qualifications:

  • Degree in Deaf Education or related field
  • Holds or eligible for appropriate teaching certification for deaf/hard of hearing in Tennessee
  • Strong understanding of auditory impairments and related instructional strategies
  • Familiarity with IEP development and implementation
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience working with children in educational settings preferred

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Deliver instruction tailored to the individual needs and learning styles of students who are deaf or hard of hearing
  • Collaborate with general education teachers and other service providers to develop and implement IEPs
  • Adapt curriculum and materials to ensure accessibility
  • Advocate for appropriate accommodations and modifications to optimize student learning
  • Provide support and resources to families and colleagues regarding best practices
  • Document student progress and maintain accurate records within required timelines
