Qualifications/Desired Experience:

• Valid state certification as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing, or eligibility for certification
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing, Special Education, or related field
• Experience with a range of assistive and augmentative communication devices and technology
• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and other communication modalities preferred
• Strong collaborative and interpersonal skills for working with students, parents, and school staff
• Ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)

Responsibilities/Duties:

• Deliver specialized instruction to students who are deaf or hard of hearing in individual, small group, or classroom settings
• Modify and adapt curriculum to meet students’ unique learning needs
• Collaborate with general education teachers and ancillary staff to support full inclusion when possible
• Conduct assessments and monitor student progress
• Provide consultation and training to school staff and families on best practices and resources
• Advocate for accessibility, accommodations, and equity within the school environment
