A full-time opportunity is available for a dedicated educator specializing in teaching Deaf and Hard of Hearing students. This role is based in Colorado Springs, CO, within a school setting, offering a rewarding environment to make a positive impact on students’ learning experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to the needs of Deaf and Hard of Hearing students.
  • Employ specialized teaching strategies to support language development, communication skills, and academic achievement.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers, speech therapists, and support staff to create an inclusive learning environment.
  • Monitor student progress and adjust instructional approaches accordingly.
  • Foster a supportive and empowering atmosphere that encourages student engagement and confidence.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Certification as a Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing or equivalent credentials.
  • Experience working with Deaf and Hard of Hearing students in an educational setting.
  • Strong understanding of communication methods such as American Sign Language (ASL) and auditory-verbal techniques.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively with students, families, and colleagues.
  • Commitment to fostering an inclusive and accessible educational environment.
