Key Qualifications:

  • Valid certification or licensure as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing or eligibility to obtain*
  • Demonstrated expertise in instructional strategies, technology, and accommodations for students with hearing loss
  • Familiarity with IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams
  • Experience with American Sign Language (ASL), auditory-verbal approaches, and/or assistive listening devices preferred
  • Ability to adapt instruction and materials to diverse learning needs

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct instruction tailored to students who are deaf or hard of hearing across various grade levels
  • Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs in collaboration with educational teams and families
  • Support students’ access to curriculum through language development, instructional adaptations, and technology integration
  • Advocate for student needs and facilitate training for staff regarding deaf awareness and accommodations
  • Participate in meetings, professional development, and ongoing assessment to ensure student progress and success
