Key Qualifications:
- Valid certification or licensure as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing or eligibility to obtain*
- Demonstrated expertise in instructional strategies, technology, and accommodations for students with hearing loss
- Familiarity with IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams
- Experience with American Sign Language (ASL), auditory-verbal approaches, and/or assistive listening devices preferred
- Ability to adapt instruction and materials to diverse learning needs
Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct instruction tailored to students who are deaf or hard of hearing across various grade levels
- Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs in collaboration with educational teams and families
- Support students’ access to curriculum through language development, instructional adaptations, and technology integration
- Advocate for student needs and facilitate training for staff regarding deaf awareness and accommodations
- Participate in meetings, professional development, and ongoing assessment to ensure student progress and success
