Make a meaningful impact working as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing for the upcoming school year in a collaborative educational setting. This full-time contract opportunity involves serving students across multiple school sites in the area, supporting their academic and communication needs. The assignment runs from August 3rd, 2026, through May 21st, 2027, with the possibility of additional pre- and post-planning days. As the exact caseload is being finalized, you’ll need flexibility and organizational skills to manage your daily responsibilities and required service logs.

Key Qualifications:

  • Valid Georgia Educator Certification as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing (DHH)
  • Demonstrated expertise working with children and adolescents who are deaf or hard of hearing in educational settings
  • Proficiency in documenting services and maintaining accurate records in compliance with district policies
  • Strong time management and ability to travel between multiple school sites as needed
  • Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment for all students
  • Flexibility to adapt to caseload needs as assignments are finalized

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct and consultative services to students who are deaf or hard of hearing, per IEP requirements
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, and families
  • Develop, implement, and monitor instructional strategies supporting communication access and curriculum participation
  • Complete district-mandated daily logs and service documentation timely and accurately
  • Participate in IEP meetings and educational planning
  • Adapt materials and instructional approaches as appropriate for student needs
