Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (TDHH) - Concord, New Hampshire

Desired Qualifications:

• State certification or eligibility as a Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing
• Proven classroom experience providing direct instruction to students with hearing loss
• Familiarity with NHSEIS and the IEP development process
• Strong ability to collaborate with interdisciplinary educational teams
• Experience monitoring and managing assistive technology—hearing aids, FM systems, cochlear implants
• Excellent communication skills with students, families, and professional partners
• Comfort delivering professional development or training to staff on hearing loss and accommodations

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver individualized instruction tailored to each student's learning needs and goals
• Support IEP and 504 plan development, implementation, and regular progress monitoring using available data and reports
• Maintain up-to-date and accurate records regarding instructional plans and student performance
• Consult, collaborate, and communicate regularly with families, audiologists, speech-language pathologists, and other vital team members
• Train school teams on technology and accommodation strategies for students with hearing loss
• Proactively manage, troubleshoot, and coordinate repairs or replacements for student amplification devices
• Empower students in self-advocacy, including managing their devices and communication about classroom needs
• Ensure compliance with NH Special Education Procedural Safeguards and district policies
• Participate in required professional development and carry out building-based responsibilities as assigned
