Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Deaf Education or a related field.
- Current certification as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing.
- Solid understanding of various communication modes, including American Sign Language (ASL), and auditory-verbal techniques.
- Experience developing and adapting individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with hearing differences.
- Ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams, students’ families, and general education staff.
- Creative, flexible approach to learning and instructional strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction to students who are deaf or hard of hearing across grades and ability levels.
- Evaluate student progress and adjust instructional methods to optimize learning outcomes.
- Offer consultative support to classroom teachers, support staff, and families about accessibility and communication needs.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation in accordance with school and regulatory requirements.
- Advocate for student participation and equal access in all aspects of the school community.
