Qualifications & Experience:

  • Valid state certification as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing
  • Experience in K-12 school settings preferred
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to develop and adapt individualized education plans (IEPs)
  • Familiarity with auditory/oral, total communication, and American Sign Language (ASL) approaches
  • Creative, patient, and dedicated to student-centered learning

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct instruction and/or support services to students who are deaf or hard of hearing
  • Collaborate with general and special education staff to adapt curriculum and instructional strategies
  • Monitor student progress and document outcomes in accordance with IEP goals
  • Consult with school teams on accommodations, assistive technology, and classroom modifications
  • Engage and communicate with families to enhance student learning and development
  • Stay up to date on best practices and compliance with federal/state regulations
