Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid state certification as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing
- Experience in K-12 school settings preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to develop and adapt individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Familiarity with auditory/oral, total communication, and American Sign Language (ASL) approaches
- Creative, patient, and dedicated to student-centered learning
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct instruction and/or support services to students who are deaf or hard of hearing
- Collaborate with general and special education staff to adapt curriculum and instructional strategies
- Monitor student progress and document outcomes in accordance with IEP goals
- Consult with school teams on accommodations, assistive technology, and classroom modifications
- Engage and communicate with families to enhance student learning and development
- Stay up to date on best practices and compliance with federal/state regulations
