Make a meaningful impact by supporting students with hearing differences as a skilled Teacher for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing on a contract assignment. In this role, you’ll work closely with students, educational teams, and families to provide specialized instruction and foster an accessible, engaging learning environment for all.

Ideal candidates bring a passion for accessibility, a deep understanding of best practices in Deaf education, and strong communication skills. You’ll have the unique opportunity to design and deliver effective lessons, empower students to reach their potential, and collaborate with educators dedicated to inclusivity.

Qualifications & Experience Desired:

  • Valid credential or certification to teach Deaf/Hard of Hearing students (state requirements apply)
  • Experience in classroom or itinerant settings serving Deaf/Hard of Hearing learners
  • Proficiency with assistive technology and current instructional strategies
  • Comfortable collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and families
  • Skills in American Sign Language (ASL) or Signing Exact English (SEE) preferred
  • Ability to develop and adapt Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver differentiated and accessible instruction in accordance with IEPs
  • Support students’ language, communication, and academic development
  • Advocate for accommodations and modify materials as necessary
  • Facilitate a positive and inclusive classroom culture
  • Collaborate with general education teachers and staff to implement support plans
  • Regularly communicate progress to parents and team members
