Deaf and Hard of Hearing Teacher - Corona, California

Qualifications:

• Valid teaching credential in Deaf/Hard of Hearing education (or eligibility to obtain)
• Proven experience working with K-12 students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) strongly preferred
• Strong collaboration skills for working with general education staff, support personnel, and families
• Ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Familiarity with assistive listening devices and visual communication strategies

Primary Responsibilities:

• Develop and deliver engaging, accessible instruction tailored to the needs of Deaf/Hard of Hearing students
• Assess student progress and adjust teaching methods to ensure effective learning outcomes
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including speech pathologists, audiologists, and counselors
• Facilitate communication and advocate for students’ needs within the school community
• Maintain accurate records and participate in IEP meetings with families and staff
• Provide training and consultation to teachers and staff regarding best practices for supporting students with hearing impairments
