Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Valid teaching certification with a specialization in Deaf/Hard of Hearing education
  • Strong knowledge of various communication modalities (ASL, Signed English, oral approaches, etc.)
  • Experience developing and adapting instructional materials for D/HH students
  • Familiarity with IEP processes, progress monitoring, and data-driven instruction
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills with students, staff, and families
  • Passionate about empowering learners and advocating for accessible education

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver targeted instruction—either individually or in small groups—to support Deaf/Hard of Hearing students’ academic, language, and social development
  • Collaborate with general education staff to facilitate accommodations, modifications, and consistent support across classroom settings
  • Contribute to the design, implementation, and review of IEPs
  • Provide consultative support to educators and families on best practices for accessibility and inclusion
  • Monitor students’ progress and adjust strategies as needed
  • Foster positive relationships that help students thrive both academically and socially
