This contract position is located just outside Nashville, Tennessee, and offers the chance to provide essential support within a school system recognized for its dedicated DHH hubs. Responsibilities include:
- Supporting students across Pre-K through high school, depending on assignment.
- Delivering primarily consultative services, collaborating with staff and families to develop and implement effective learning strategies.
- Traveling between one or more schools as needed within a well-organized district with established DHH programs.
- Documenting student progress and maintaining required reports.
- Participating in IEP meetings, ensuring accommodations and individualized education plans are met.
- Staying current on best practices and compliance guidelines for DHH education.
Qualifications:
- Valid Tennessee Department of Education Certification in Deaf/Hard of Hearing (DOE Cert).
- Successful completion of Tennessee fingerprinting and all onboarding screening.
- Prior experience as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing, ideally in multiple age groups.
- Strong consultative and collaborative skills.
- Ability to adapt to varying caseloads and educational service models.
This position is full-time, Monday through Friday, following the standard school week with the assignment running from early August through late May. The caseloads are dynamic, and your expertise will be valued as you help students thrive in a supportive environment.
