This full-time contract opportunity offers the chance to work closely with K–12 students in a supportive district environment. Assignments are onsite within district DHH hubs—serving Pre-K through Elementary, with a new Middle School hub opening next school year—ensuring meaningful connections with students and colleagues as you deliver consultative and direct services tailored to individual needs.
You’ll collaborate with a dynamic educational team, helping to shape inclusive learning while fostering student growth and confidence. Your expertise will support both staff and families, ensuring each student’s unique abilities and needs are understood and met.
Desired Qualifications:
- Active Tennessee Department of Education certification in Deaf/Hard of Hearing.
- Fingerprint clearance through Tennessee state background checks.
- Previous experience teaching or supporting DHH students (K–12) preferred.
- Strong collaborative skills for working with teachers, therapists, and families.
- Solid knowledge of consultative and direct service models for DHH education.
- Ability to adapt strategies to diverse student needs and educational settings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct and consultative services for students (grades K–12) with hearing impairments.
- Develop and implement IEPs to ensure access to curriculum and school activities.
- Collaborate with general and special education staff to foster inclusive environments.
- Work with families and caregivers to support students’ educational growth.
- Assist in the transition planning and support for students moving between grade levels or schools.
