Make a meaningful difference in students’ lives as a Teacher for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing in a dynamic educational environment. Support learners across multiple sites near Cumming, GA, for the 2026–2027 academic year. This contract role is part-time, approximately 20 hours per week, offering flexibility while making a lasting impact. The assignment starts July 27th, 2026, and continues through May 25th, 2027.

Qualifications:

  • Holds a valid Georgia Teaching Certificate in Special Education – Deaf Education (P–12), or Special Education General Curriculum (P–12) with a Deaf/Hard of Hearing endorsement
  • Solid understanding of instructional strategies and assistive technology for Deaf/Hard of Hearing students
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for engaging with students, staff, and families
  • Able to adapt lessons and collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams
  • Demonstrated commitment to inclusive, student-centered practices

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide specialized instruction and support to Deaf/Hard of Hearing students in various school environments
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers, support staff, and parents to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
  • Assess student progress and adjust teaching approaches as needed to ensure success
  • Utilize current methodologies and technology to enhance student access and participation
  • Advocate for and facilitate communication access and accommodations tailored to each learner’s needs
  • Participate in professional meetings, trainings, and district-wide initiatives as required
