Key Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid certification as a Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing
- Experience working with students who are deaf or hard of hearing in a school environment
- Strong understanding of ASL (American Sign Language) and/or other communication modalities
- Ability to adapt instructional methods and materials to meet diverse student needs
- Passion for fostering inclusive educational settings
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills with students, families, and school teams
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver individualized and group instruction tailored to students with hearing differences
- Assess student progress and adapt lesson plans to support both academic and language goals
- Consult with classroom teachers and staff to implement appropriate accommodations and modifications
- Advocate for students’ communication and access needs within the school setting
- Offer guidance and support to families regarding hearing loss, communication options, and educational strategies
- Maintain accurate student records and participate in IEP meetings as required
