Key Qualifications & Experience:

  • Valid certification as a Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing
  • Experience working with students who are deaf or hard of hearing in a school environment
  • Strong understanding of ASL (American Sign Language) and/or other communication modalities
  • Ability to adapt instructional methods and materials to meet diverse student needs
  • Passion for fostering inclusive educational settings
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills with students, families, and school teams

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver individualized and group instruction tailored to students with hearing differences
  • Assess student progress and adapt lesson plans to support both academic and language goals
  • Consult with classroom teachers and staff to implement appropriate accommodations and modifications
  • Advocate for students’ communication and access needs within the school setting
  • Offer guidance and support to families regarding hearing loss, communication options, and educational strategies
  • Maintain accurate student records and participate in IEP meetings as required
