Empower students as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing supporting K-12 learners in an itinerant role for the upcoming 2026–2027 school year. In this contract position, you’ll work 20 hours per week with schools in the Danbury, NC area, making a meaningful difference for students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing. If you are seeking a full-time opportunity and possess appropriate licensure, there’s potential to expand your responsibilities to include special education placements.

Key Qualifications:

  • Valid certification as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing
  • Experience working with K-12 students in educational settings
  • Comfort in an itinerant role, providing services across various school sites
  • Ability to plan and implement individualized instructional strategies
  • Strong communication skills with students, colleagues, and families
  • Special education licensure (preferred for full-time consideration)

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct instructional support and consultation services to Deaf/Hard of Hearing students
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers and support staff to integrate accommodations and modifications
  • Assess student progress and contribute to Individualized Education Program (IEP) development and meetings
  • Provide resources and guidance to families and school personnel on Deaf/Hard of Hearing needs
  • Travel between assigned school sites to ensure continuity of services
