Empower students with diverse communication needs by providing specialized instruction as a Teacher for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing. This full-time contract opportunity is ideal for educators passionate about supporting high school learners and eager to make a lasting difference in a student’s educational journey. In this in-person position, you’ll work closely with one high school student, helping to create an accessible, supportive, and inclusive classroom environment.

Key Qualifications:

  • Valid certification as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing
  • Experience working in a high school setting or with adolescents preferred
  • In-depth knowledge of best practices for Deaf/Hard of Hearing student support
  • Proficiency with assistive technology and augmentative communication devices
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Dedication to fostering growth, advocacy, and empowerment in students
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with general education staff, families, and support personnel

What You’ll Do:

  • Deliver individualized instruction tailored to the needs of a Deaf/Hard of Hearing high school student
  • Plan and implement educational strategies for academic, communication, and social success
  • Track progress and maintain accurate documentation in accordance with student IEPs
  • Advocate for student access to all areas of the educational environment
  • Partner with teachers, interpreters, and support staff for seamless inclusion
  • Engage families in their child’s learning process and provide resources as needed
  • Create a welcoming classroom that celebrates diversity and promotes self-advocacy

Schedule & Details:

  • Monday to Friday, 7:45 AM – 2:45 PM CST
  • Full-time, in-person position for the entire 2026/2027 school year
  • First day of school: August 4, 2026
  • Focused support for one high school student
