Make a meaningful impact on a high school student’s educational journey by bringing your expertise as a Teacher for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing to a supportive school environment. This full-time, in-person contract opportunity begins August 4, 2026, and runs through the 2026-2027 school year. You’ll be working closely with one student, providing individualized support throughout the week from 7:45 AM to 2:45 PM CST.
Your experience in supporting students with hearing differences will empower the student to reach their full academic and personal potential. This setting offers a unique chance to build a strong, lasting connection and celebrate each milestone in a high school setting.
Qualifications and Preferred Experience:
- Valid teaching certification in Deaf/Hard of Hearing or related specialty
- Previous experience working in a school, preferably at the high school level
- Strong skills in American Sign Language (ASL) or other communication modalities used by deaf/hard of hearing students
- Deep understanding of instructional strategies and accommodations for students with hearing differences
- Commitment to upholding confidentiality and fostering a positive, inclusive student environment
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction tailored to one high school student’s educational goals and IEP requirements
- Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and parents to ensure comprehensive support
- Adapt curriculum materials and assessments for accessibility
- Advocate for the student’s needs and help facilitate full participation in all school activities
- Monitor progress and maintain detailed documentation
