The position runs from August 11, 2026, through May 24, 2027, and is ideal for a compassionate, flexible educator who thrives in dynamic, collaborative school settings.
Qualifications:
- Active Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with DHH (Deaf/Hard of Hearing) endorsement required
- Experience teaching or supporting Deaf/Hard of Hearing students in school settings
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
- Ability to adapt instructional strategies to meet individual student needs
- Familiarity with IEP development and progress monitoring
- Comfortable with itinerant work across multiple campuses
Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction and classroom support for Deaf/Hard of Hearing students
- Collaborate with general education teachers and other service providers to create inclusive plans
- Assess student progress, contribute to IEP meetings, and provide relevant recommendations
- Offer consultative support and training for staff, ensuring accessibility across learning environments
- Foster a positive and supportive atmosphere that encourages academic and social growth
- Maintain accurate records and communication with families and school teams
