In this contract position, Monday through Friday, you will work closely with students, families, and educational staff to foster communication, access, and growth for each child on your caseload. Starting August 19, your commitment will help ensure every student receives the personalized support they deserve.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Certified Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing, or eligible for certification
- Experience working with Preschool/PreK students preferred
- Solid understanding of communication modalities, including ASL, auditory-oral approaches, and assistive technology
- Strong collaborative skills to partner with general educators, specialists, and families
- Ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) tailored to student needs
- Effective communication and advocacy skills
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct and consultative services to PreK students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
- Assess students’ developmental, academic, and communication needs
- Design individualized lessons to promote language, literacy, and social skills
- Collaborate with educational teams to modify curriculum and support inclusion
- Offer guidance and resources to families and staff
- Maintain accurate records and document student progress
- Support transition and early intervention services as needed
