Key Qualifications:

  • Valid certification as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing (state requirements apply)
  • Experience working in educational settings, preferably within schools
  • In-depth understanding of D/HH instructional strategies and assistive technology
  • Ability to tailor instruction to various communication modes (sign language, oral, total communication)
  • Strong collaboration, organization, and communication skills

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Deliver individualized instruction and support to Deaf/Hard of Hearing students
  • Develop and implement IEPs in partnership with multidisciplinary teams
  • Monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies as needed
  • Serve as a resource to teachers, families, and staff regarding D/HH needs
  • Adapt materials and learning environments for optimum accessibility
