Key Qualifications:
- Valid certification as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing (state requirements apply)
- Experience working in educational settings, preferably within schools
- In-depth understanding of D/HH instructional strategies and assistive technology
- Ability to tailor instruction to various communication modes (sign language, oral, total communication)
- Strong collaboration, organization, and communication skills
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized instruction and support to Deaf/Hard of Hearing students
- Develop and implement IEPs in partnership with multidisciplinary teams
- Monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies as needed
- Serve as a resource to teachers, families, and staff regarding D/HH needs
- Adapt materials and learning environments for optimum accessibility
